- Painted in tempera on metal leaf and gesso on wood panel, this is a finely executed icon.
- Layered on a warm ochre ground, the faces demonstrate subtle ivory highlights.
- There is a fine even-overall craquelure pattern consistent with late 18th century panels.
- The background and margins have remnants of original gilding.
- The borders have early nail-type fasteners probably once holding basma work.
- This is a fine earlier example with an unusually large amount of gilding remaining for an icon of this age. A glowing image!
