Unidentified owner (the lower margin of f. 8 excised, presumably to remove an ownership inscription).

Jean Rochier, abbot of the Cistercian abbey of Bellebranche, diocese of Mans, France ('Istam bibliam emit fra/ter Johannes Rochier, / Abbas de Bellabrancha / Cuius anima in pace / requiescat. Amen', f. 579v).

'Decima decembris 1458. Per solutum fratre Stephano Deon ordinis fratrum predicatorum … istius biblia quam habemus. Teste J. A.(?) de bellebr.' (f. 2): the whole inscription may be a forgery, and the name 'Deon' appears to have been added over an erasure.

'Plequy'(?) followed by a paraph (f. 491).

Charles d'Eon de Beaumont, chevalier d'Eon, with his transcription of the inscription on f. 2 (f. 1): possibly in his sale, 12 February 1813, lot 19.

Rev. Charles Burney, DD (d. 1817).

Purchased for the British Museum from his son Charles Parr Burney in 1818.

Chapters start on new lines and chapter numbers are set into the text area.
Psalms with the eight-part divisions.
A Hebrew inscription starting 'Acquire knowledge and do good', and continuing in aphoristic vein (f. 2). The script and vowels are well done, but the grammar is bad, as are the letter-forms -- on the last line the word 'Amen' has been miswritten as the word for oil.
A vellum bookmark is loose between ff. 568 and 569.
