Said to have belonged to the Grande Chartreuse at Grenoble and later (~1840?) to Dr Commarmont of Lyons, from whom it was bought by Professor Guglielmo Libri for the London booksellers Payne and Foss (note of Frederick Madden, flyleaf).
Purchased by the British Museum from Payne and Foss, London booksellers, 12 November 1845.
