Purchased 16 January 1720 or 1721 by Nathaniel Noel (d. ~1753) for Edward Harley: inscribed ‘16 die January, A.D. 1720/21’, front flyleaf.
Sold as part of the Harley collection to Parliament by the Countess of Oxford, widow of Edward Harley, 2nd Earl of Oxford, and their daughter, the Duchess of Portland, in 1753 and incorporated into the newly founded British Museum.
