история:
Distinction between historiated initials and small miniatures seems to have little functional significance.
The manuscript was illuminated in two campaigns, the first undertaken by the Master of the Dresden Prayer book c.1500 and the second by the young Simon Bening between 1510 and 1515.
The calendar was decorated by both artists in two parallel sequences of illustrations.
