- Together with Attavante degli Attavanti and the brothers Gherardo and Monte di Giovanni, Cherico was one of the most significant miniaturists in Florence in the second half of the 15th century when miniature art was at its peak.
He was a follower of Fra Angelico and was influenced by other fresco painters like Domenico Veneziamo and Alesso Baldovinetti.
His speciality was the illustration of the works of humanist, his main works are the illustrations of a Petrarca and a Dante manuscript, as well as the Prayer Book of Lorenzo de' Medici.
